An IDF soldier may be missing; search on for נטע ברנד.

I received this email a few hours ago from our local Tzur Hadassah announcement list:

עזרה דחופה לאיתור חייל נעדר מגבעת ישעיהו

היום בסביבות  השעה  8:30 נראה החייל נטע ברנד

מגבעת ישעיהו בכניסה לישוב. מאז נותק הקשר עימו ויש חשש לחייו. נטע לבש מדי צה”ל ונשא נשק.

ברגעים אלו מתבצעים חיפושים נרחבים באזור גבעת ישעיהו.

כל היודע פרטים על מקום הימצאו או מי שפגש בו לאחר השעה הנ”ל מתבקש להודיע למוקד 100.

Basically, an IDF soldier, Neta Brand, was last seen 8:30 this morning at the gate of his yishuv, Givat Yishayahu, which is in Emek HaElla (close to Tzur Hadassah). There are search parties in the area. His picture below:

If you have any information, you’re asked to call 100. I haven’t seen any updates so I’m guessing it’s still relevant?

UPDATE: Private Netta Brand was found dead near Beit Shemesh this morning (May 2). He was shot by his own rifle in an apparent suicide… He left a note for his family before he left. Army is investigating. I hope his memory serves as a blessing…
