Ah, yes. An old school Succot in New York City. I remember being way younger and venturing with my family to Borough Park to pick up a set of lulav, etrog, hadas and arava off a chassid on a Brooklyn street corner for perhaps one of the most bizarre of Jewish rituals: the Four Species. Sounds like a B-horror flick. It smells better, though.
This year: The scene is Main Street in Queens, a little new for me and a far cry from Talpiot, Jerusalem; but it really is the culmination of being Israeli/Jewish in New York.
