First time this, first time that.

My mom came for the first time to Israel this past week. Among other things, the highlights were:

– watching her enjoy our aparment
– showing her the wedding hall
– taking her to the Old City, Mahane Yehuda, downtown, the German Colony
– introducing her to my office (including my bosses…)
– co-hosting the small engagement party we had in the apartment
– bridal gown shopping in Tel Aviv
– quiet Jerusalem shabbat (with gourmet cooking!)

I think we did a good job of giving her a positive first experience.

All in all, it was a first time for her to be in Israel and a first time for me to welcome a parent into my own home…
