Al Jazeera has arrived.

Al Jazeera has an office inside my building. My journalistic side is curious and intrigued.

My Israeli side is annoyed; why do they get to freely tramp around the country as professional journalists and Israeli citizens can’t even step foot inside most Arab ones?

I think you should try and soothe both sides by going in and asking them that. Seriously. It would be interesting to hear how (and even if) they respond.

Yeah… But why should they? They’re getting a free ticket, easy reporting. Journalists will gladly take easy bait, and this is ridiculously easy.

But more than that, let Al Jazeera hang here if it wants. It’s banned from some Arab countries so they gotta get the stories somewhere, right?

But me, the tourist, I don’t even get to step inside some of these countries because of my passport.

Israel is a silly place. Open society, democratic, and screwing itself constantly. For a society that despises suckers, Israel sure is one big sucker.

I have found that reading AlJazeera articles is an eye-opening experience. In a way, it’s a substitute for actually stepping foot in their countries.

Of course, at first reading the articles appear to be senseless anti-israeli bulls***. However, if you realize that the Arabs actually see themselves as the victims and the good guys in our senseless conflict, then the articles become a porthole into the Arab mind.
